Santi and Simona Corridori invite you to their home. They live on a farm and have been rearing CintaSenese pigs for over 15 years. This ancient breed has lent its name to the hilly area between Monteriggioni, Poggibonsi and Sovicille, and is thought to have been reared here as early as Roman times. Cinta Senese pigs are first mentionedhistorically in 1338, in Ambrogio Lorenzetti’s famous book, Allegoria ed Effetti del Buono e del Cattivo Governo (Allegory and Effects of Good and Bad Government).

Visitors can enjoy a tour of the farm and gain an understanding of life as a farmer of CintaSenese breed pigs today. Take a walk on the nearby Via Francigena pilgrims’ way with the farmers and see the pigs in the pasture while learning about this ancient breed. Explore where the piglets are born and weaned. This tour is perfect for all ages and takes place on level and accessible ground.
